Needs a lot better sound work

Your graphics and animation overall were pretty nice, even for a sprite flick. However, your sound effects and choice of music were, I felt, poorly implemented. It was extremely distracting listening to background music that I recognized out of context from movies. I'm more impressed by original work, and while your animation was certainly a class act, I felt your music selection was less than that.

I want music that goes along with YOUR animation, not music which goes with an entirely different movie which you happened to like. It's good music in its own context; it just doesn't fit with your flash.

As for sound effects, I felt they were poorly implemented in the sense that they seemed forced and often out of synch. When the Megamen were shooting, it felt like there should have been more than a wimpy "zing" to accompany a charged, devastating bolt of plasma. If you're going to use sound effects, they can and will make or break your presentation.

Boring

You have some decent artwork... That's it.

All the art and animation skills in the world don't mean crap if you can't put together a decent submission. Funny shorts are fine, but the Portal isn't a place for you and your circlejerking "crew" to submit short, crap entries which consist of little more than "shout outs" that no one else cares about but you and your buddies.

No talent for form or compositioning went into this movie.

Too short, weak punchline

It's just not finished... Yes yes, minimalism, whatever. "Minimalism" only works when either what is presented (or not presented) is of such great significance that nothing else is needed to make the piece great.

Though the "treeclock beats puppies" idea could potentially be funny, coming out and stating it at the end is really overdone. I was waiting for some kind of hilarious punchline which never came.

It's quite finished, it's exactly as I intended it to be. As to having a punchline, it's not funny. It's sad. It's about a puppy being beaten to death with a baseball bat.

Ok, so I got to the samurai potato part, and then..... just a white screen.

It's good. The only thing I wish you did would be if you had synched the sound a little better for when it loops. Other than that, not bad.
